Mervyn  Jack  Mills’ mother  had  an  information  from a friend  of  her son that Mervyn  was a POW.

Hi Pierre,

These telegrams concerning J.E. Shields were in Mervyn Jack Mills’ WWII records that my mother acquired from the Defence Dept. in the 1990s. My Grandmother was making enquiries until about 1948. 

They give a rank and number. As time goes on there’ll be more information on the Cenotaph Online Site of the Auckland War Memorial Museum as they’re advertising for people to upload information on TV.
